Oilers move to 2-and-1 headed home. The Okotoks Oilers exploded out of the blocks last night and never looked back en-route to an 8-3 route of the Calgary Canucks in the AJHL.
Five unanswered goals in the first period was all the Oilers would need to improve their record to 2-1.
Andrew Owsiak, popped a couple for the Oilers, while, Everett Sheen, led the way with 1 goal and 2 helpers.
After their first period outburst, the Oilers were quiet in the 2nd period letting Calgary come back to make it 5-2, but 3 more goals in the 3rd was enough to salt away the win.
The Oilers open their home season Saturday night in Okotoks against Canmore.
