Direct Energy Regulated Services have announced their natural gas and electricity rates for July.

Those who have not chosen one of ATCO Gas' competitive suppliers and live in the ATCO Gas South service territory will see their rate drop.

The rate for natural gas in July decreased from the June rate of $1.05 per GJ to 89 cents per GJ.

The average residential gas bill for using 2 GJ of natural gas in July will be approximately $61.

Unfortunately, though, the electricity rates for July will be going up.

The energy rate for July is approximately 7 per cent higher than it was in June.

A residential customer who consumes 600 kWh per month will see their July bill increase by approximately $9.60, compared to June.
